Making an asian line out of 3-way prices

Hi, this season I've been focusing on betting into the asian lines rather than 3-way prices. I've found that there can often be better value betting the side / draw at different books rather than taking the asian line.

Unfortunately my excel / math skills are a bit feeble and been racking the brain trying to come up with excel formula where I can enter the amount I want to stake and it spits out how much to put on the side / draw to create the desired asian handicap. I can come up close off the top of my head but would like to be precise.

For example, if the dog is 5.35 and the draw is 3.55 and I want to use these prices to have $500 at 0.0, +0.25 or +0.5 how can I work this out in excel?

Much appreciated if anyone can help here.

Hi Duckstabber,

Will you have soccer plays today? I've been playing your highly rated ones. Thanks in advance

Bookieblaster,

Sorry, I won't have any plays until the weekend. But I'm glad to learn that someone actually reads my thread. :toast:

Thanks duckstabber (delayed I know, too much soccer to bet on).

Those links were helpful but not exactly what I was after. Basically I want to input a bet amount, and the side and draw price to get what amounts to place on the draw and side to come up with an asian line. It's easy to get close off the top of the head but in the heat of the moment it's good not to have to think too much and be precise.

I don't know much about soccer but there's quite a few scalps which means quite a lot of value, particularly with the low juice of the asian lines. So when I find a scalp on the 3-way against what I deem the more efficient asian line, it's often hard to determine if the value lies with the side or the draw. Also, prior to betting an asian line, it's good to check combined 3-way prices to see if a better price can be had.

The other thing is middling or reverse middle scalping asian lines (something I only do if I'm allowed to bet more than I want to lose). I don't know precisely the value of each 0.25 point in soccer but have a fair idea and only middle or reverse when confident the spot is extra good. It would be good to know more precisley these values and the XL sheet would help, though I'm not sure the impact the total has on his or whether it's factored into the 3-way (ie. same price fav has a shorter draw on a lower total). You could even decide to reverse, middle or straight scalp based on the asain line with the most value given 2 efficient 3-way prices.

Anyway I got a bit carried away there, thanks again for the help, new to this soccer thing and sure I'll get to the bottom of it. Don't really have anyone to talk to about this stuff. My mates just go HUH:monsters- then :toast:
